I posted about this a little over a week ago after it happened. Skeeter is still missing. Here’s the latest:

Ever since a carjacker drove off with her Lincoln Navigator and her dog earlier this week, Meg Hall has received phone calls from two people who thought they might have found Skeeter, her Chihuahua-Jack Russell Terrier mix. But when she went to see those dogs, it turned out neither was Skeeter.
“I did visualize seeing Skeeter and him jumping up on me,” Hall, 27, said Friday. “Hopefully, that’s still going to happen.”
A $1,000 reward is now being offered to the public for the safe return of Skeeter. The dog was taken from Hall when a man holding a gun approached her in the 2300 block of Burdette Street about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday.
Before being attacked, Hall was climbing into her Navigator and waving goodbye to her boyfriend’s mother, who was on a nearby porch with her own dogs. Skeeter was sitting on the car’s center console.
The gunman stopped Hall from closing her door and yanked her away from the SUV. She said he punched her in the face and threw her on the ground.
“It happened so fast,” Hall said. “I tried to fight him off. I kicked him. I hit him. But … he just overpowered me.”
The man started driving off with Hall’s Navigator, and she ran up to the car and pounded the windows. Aside from her vehicle, the robber had Hall’s purse, her wallet and her cell phone — but she said all she cared about getting back was her skittish pup, Skeeter.
“Give me the dog,” Hall pleaded. “Give me the dog.” However, the man fled in her tan Navigator, 2000 model, with Louisiana license plate TFX 907.
Hall, her friends and her family subsequently gathered $500 and distributed posters offering the money to anyone finding Skeeter. The Humane Society of Louisiana on Thursday joined Hall’s cause and contributed another $500 to the reward.
Humane Society Director Jeff Dorson urges anyone who knows where Skeeter is or wants more information about the reward to call his group at 888-648-6263. The dog can also be dropped off at any animal shelters in the area “without questions asked,” said Hall, who can be contacted via Facebook.
Skeeter, 11
Hall adopted Skeeter, a rescue dog, following Hurricane Rita in 2005. She says he is “very friendly” and will run up to anyone who speaks his name.
“He’s been my best friend and roommate for a long time,” said Hall, who noted that Skeeter’s bed and food bowl are still out. “I can’t imagine not getting him back. He’s the perfect dog for me. … Skeeter goes with me everywhere. I really miss him.”
Update: The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office recovered Meg Hall’s Lincoln Navigator late Friday night, but Skeeter was still missing.
