CAUTION! PHOTOS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST ARE GRAPHIC. THESE DOGS ARE VERY THIN AND ILL. THERE IS A CHANCE FOR SURVIVAL THOUGH- WITH OUR HELP!
Short Mugs Rescue Squad in League City, Texas, has taken in these two beautiful French Bulldogs who were abandonded in an apartment building, left to die. A kind bystander found them and took them to SMRS for help. SMRS has since taken them to a vet for their care. But now they need OUR help.
The rescue named them Hope and Faith. Hope is the lighter colored Frenchy and in critical condition. She can’t even stand on her own. As you can see, she is thin beyond belief and weighs only 12 pounds. Apparently she has poor anal tone so her bowel movements are just falling out.
Faith is the darker Frenchy, also very skinny, but able to walk on her own. She is only slightly heavier and weighs 16.8 pounds.
As you can only imagine, both are stressed right now.
These girls were found yesterday, Monday, February 20, 2012, and spent the night at the Vet office, hooked up to IV’s for fluids. Both have pressure sores, likely from being confined to a cage most of their lives. They have also both been bred many times. They estimate their ages to be around 2-4 years old.
Luckily neither were found to have heartworms or parasites. Neither have micro chips either.
These two dogs have been through hell and back, as you can see and have a very tight bond together. Faith even acts protective of Hope and even snuggles her and cleans her.
Ultrasounds, bloodwork and xrays have been performed. It appears that Hope has a metal object inside that they are monitoring.
Professionals are generously giving their time to these girls but they need our help to cover the cost of supplies used. A chip-in has been set up for these to. If you are able to give ANYTHING, please do! A little can go a long way! Use this link. If you experience any issues, ignore the security warning and it will work for you (this is what is being said on their Facebook page). If you are still having issues with the chip-in, email Short Mugs directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Update as of 6:23pm, 2-21-2012: chip in is having difficulties so if it doesn’t work for you, try donating through their paypal account. THANKS!
Please share this with others in your network. We need to pull together and help these two little girls. How dare a human being do this to them!
BIG THANKS to all that are doing what they can to help these precious girls!
